Six Likely Species for Star Wars: Zero Company

Six unconfirmed but plausible species we expect to see in Star Wars: Zero Company, based on lore, role variety, and the shape of the war.

We already know which species are confirmed for Star Wars: Zero Company, but what about the ones that feel just out of reach? These six haven’t been officially announced, but they all make sense. They fit the era, the tone, and the kind of squad the game is building. If we’re getting more options, don’t be surprised if these show up next.

RHODIAN

Rodians haven’t shown up yet in Zero Company, but they’re all over Star Wars. Bounty hunters, scouts, foot soldiers – always fast, always twitchy, and usually ready to switch sides if the money’s good. In the Clone Wars, some Rodians backed the Republic, others sold their services to the Separatists.

They’re a natural fit for a squad that doesn’t operate by the book. A Rodian might not be loyal, but they’d be useful. That’s usually enough.

Homeworld: Rodia
Traits: Quick, reactive, unreliable
Notable Characters: Greedo, Onaconda Farr
In Zero Company: Not yet confirmed, but highly likely

NIMBANEL

Nimbanel haven’t shown up in Zero Company yet, but they’ve got the kind of energy that fits. The species first appeared back in Return of the Jedi with Syub Snubb, but Bistan, the U-wing door gunner from Rogue One, put the species on the map. He didn’t say much. He didn’t need to. He just loaded up, leaned out the side of the ship, and opened fire.

There’s no confirmed Republic affiliation for the species during the Clone Wars, but that hardly matters. A Nimbanel gunner in Zero Company wouldn’t be there for politics. They’d be there for the fight. Small, twitchy, and aggressive, they’d bring some chaos to a squad full of damaged professionals. Useful chaos.

Homeworld: Nimbala
Traits: Fast, fearless, trigger-happy
Notable Characters: Bistan, Syub Snubb
In Zero Company: Not confirmed, but fits the tone and class variety

MON CALAMARI

Tech-savvy, stubborn, and tired of being underestimated. Mon Calamari aren’t frontline grunts, but they’ve fought their share of wars. During the Clone Wars, they defended their own world and aligned with the Republic. Some took up arms. Others built the ships that kept the Republic afloat.

A Mon Calamari in Zero Company wouldn’t be there for fun. They’d be there to do a job – quietly, methodically, and with just enough resentment to keep things sharp.

Homeworld: Mon Cala
Traits: Intelligent, principled, stubborn
Notable Characters: Admiral Ackbar, Meena Tills
In Zero Company: Not confirmed, but a strong support candidate

TRANDOSHAN

If you need something killed, and you don’t care how, bring a Trandoshan. They’re violent, self-interested, and fully capable of turning on you if the terms change. That makes them perfect for Zero Company. You wouldn’t trust them, but you’d keep them close.

Trandoshans have appeared in every corner of Star Wars as bounty hunters, slavers, and mercs. Bossk from The Empire Strikes Back is the best-known example, and he didn’t get famous by being nice. If Zero Company leans into internal conflict and dangerous alliances, this is one species that belongs in the mix.

Homeworld: Trandosha
Traits: Aggressive, durable, volatile
Notable Characters: Bossk
In Zero Company: Not yet confirmed, but fits the squad tone

NAUTOLAN

Nautolans are fast and hard to read. Kit Fisto made them famous, but they’ve always been an interesting blend of calm exterior and close-range aggression. They can read emotional states through pheromones, which makes them dangerous in close quarters and unsettling in conversation.

In Zero Company, a Nautolan could fill a movement-based role as skirmisher, scout or close assault. If the game features different environments, they’d also bring natural advantages in water or wet-climate maps. Either way, they’re a flexible pick with good Clone Wars pedigree.

Homeworld: Glee Anselm
Traits: Perceptive, mobile, upbeat
Notable Characters: Kit Fisto
In Zero Company: Not confirmed, but highly plausible

WOOKIEE

Wookiees fought directly in the Clone Wars. They’re confirmed and regular canon in Star Wars. They appeared alongside Yoda in Revenge of the Sith, and some of them formed long-standing alliances with Republic officers. If Zero Company needs muscle, this is the most likely source.

A Wookiee recruit wouldn’t need much dialogue. They’d be big, loyal, and angry enough to hold the line when everything falls apart. That’s the kind of presence that sticks.

Homeworld: Kashyyyk
Traits: Strong, loyal, honour-driven
Notable Characters: Chewbacca, Tarfful
In Zero Company: Not confirmed, but lore supports it

More species will almost certainly be added closer to launch. These six make the most sense – rooted in Clone Wars lore, built for gameplay variety, and distinct enough to carry their weight in a squad full of survivors and exiles. Next time, we’ll go the other way: the dream list. The long shots. The ones we’d love to see even if we probably won’t.
